Typical love story - No Reservations Reviews
No Reservations is a typical love story. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, they get together, the fight, then make up. However, I loved it regarless of its predicablility. Jones was great, as was her costar. They sold it for me. I loved the cooking inspired aspect and it was really well played out. WORTH SEEING!

Great movie? no. fun/good movie? yes! - No Reservations Reviews
My title should be self explanatory. This movie isn't going to win an Oscar, nor is anybody in it going to take home the golden little man. However, it was a very fun movie that left you feeling good. Now I know many people will find that too quant, but why? Why can't we have movies that don't have too many twists and when you leave you just feel good.
If you're a movie snob then by all means DON'T go see this movie, but if you're having a bad day and you're not a movie snob, then this movie is a good watch.
Have fun and enjoy the darkness of a theater near you.
Worth the money - No Reservations Reviews
I tried to talk my two friends out of seeing "NO RESERVATIONS," because the rating was low. Big Mistake. Luckily, majority ruled. I found the comedy/drama to be funny, entertaining, and well-written. I couldn't help compairing this movie to "Baby Boom" and "3 Men and a Baby." All 3 movies have the same plot. A baby enters the life of extremely busy people. They must shift their lives to adapt to the care for a baby. The transformation is both funny and sad. The setting made this show take a unique art form.
The 3 majaor actors, Catherine Zeta- Jones, Aaron Eckhart, and Abigail Breslin were perfectly cast for their part. It's worth the money.
Don't listen to the critics - No Reservations Reviews
We weren't going to see this movie because of what we had read, but a friend told us that it was much better than the critics had said. She was right. It was a sweet, romantic movie that seems to not be in vogue with critics and moviemakers today. It didn't have violence, crude comments, chase scenes, and deep, heavy meaning which all seem to be prime ingredients in most current movies. It was enjoyable, light and the escape that we were looking for. Go judge for yourself.
Save your money - No Reservations Reviews
Save your money!!! This movie is so slow and predictable. If you saw Raising Helen then you already know everything that is going to happen. I'd save it for a stormy night when you can't get out to do anything better and can rent it on pay per view. I don't think it is even worth venturing out to the movie store for.
Check please! - No Reservations Reviews
While this movie was cute and funny, it was certainly not just a "light, romantic comedy." Sure, there was some good humor and romance, but overall, this movie was a tearjerker. The trailer advertises it to be a light, humorous movie, but it was more of a sad, depressing film. Advice to anyone planning to go see it: BRING A BOX OF TISSUES!!!
Catherine zeta-jones & aaron eckhart are great - No Reservations Reviews
Wow! was i wrong about this movie. I thought it was going to suck but Eckhart and Zeta-Jones acting is what made the movie so good. If you want to see some good acting and no special effects then go see this or Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale. Those are 2 movies where the acting makes up for the low budget or no special effects. This is a movie that guys and gals can see.

This is a remake - No Reservations Reviews
This is nothing more than "Mostly Martha" in English instead of German. I saw nothing that made me forget the original. Those of you who love this version owe it to yourselves to watch the original. Zeta-Jones is, perhaps, the more attractive lead, I suppose, but she brings nothing truly new to the role.
Copy of german movie bella martha!!! - No Reservations Reviews
THIS MOVIE IS A COPIED VERSION OF THE GERMAN MOVIE, "BELLA MARTHA." YES THE STORY IS GOOD, BUT IT WAS COPIED FROM A GERMAN MOVIE AND THAT'S PRETTY stupid. The German version beats this one by a lot.
Not bad but not worth the hype - No Reservations Reviews
A good movie but with all the pre-release attention given to the chef/cooking and Zeta-Jones I thought the movie was not about cooking/kitchen and Zeta-Jones was average at best, instead I thought the star of the movie and the one who makes it what it is was Abigail Breslin (little Miss Sunshine). She was terrific as the orphan girl moving in with ehr aunt.
A pleasant feel-good movie - No Reservations Reviews
After her sister dies in a car accident, a top chef must take care of her niece in this pleasant romantic comedy-drama. Catherine Zeta-Jones is one of my favorite actresses. I enjoy seeing Aaron Eckhart, who usually plays a villain, play a good guy. And Abigail Breslin is very charming.
"No Reservations", based on the German movie "Mostly Martha", is nothing profound, just entertaining.
A delicious light fluffy romance - No Reservations Reviews
Refreshingly light fluffy romance movie with a touch of hells kitchen (TV reality show).
The move gave you the sense you where casually looking in on the life of a chef during an extraordinary time of her life. This is a movie you can just relax and curl up with and let it happen, nothing to intense, but entertaining. If you are in the mood to just unwind with dinner and romance this is the movie for you.
A good date movie - No Reservations Reviews
This is a feel-good movie that is perfect for a first date or for a couple that has been together for some time. Though not one of the summer's best movies, this chick flick is deep enough to engage you without being too sentimental or maudlin. The characters are endearing and the plot is adequate.

Whats not to like? hmmm - No Reservations Reviews
Foreign film on American soil..I enjoyed the natural expression so often missing in American movies,a story told without "star quality" pushing for center stage..very enjoyable*
Actors make it - No Reservations Reviews
With a predictable story line, it is left to the cast to carry this film off, and they do. They make you laugh and cry at the appropriate moments. If you just want to see beauty and beauty growing to blossom see Catherine and her niece.
Great romantic comedy - No Reservations Reviews
Catherine Zeta-Jones was very good in this movie and Aaron Eckhart stole the show with his comedic wit, I actually liked this movie it was well made and the story is great. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays a chef who tries to be a mother to her orphaned niece played by little miss sunshine herself Abigail Breslin, Aaron Echkhart plays another chef who comes in and tries to make competition with Zeta-Jones character but that doesn't seem to be as the two have a liking for each other. And Eckhart's character becomes a father figure to Abigail Breslin, Great movie and good performances.
Remake - No Reservations Reviews
This is an exact copy of a German film titled Mostly Martha. Why did they bother. See the original. Another Hollywood rip-off.
I thought it was cute and romantic! - No Reservations Reviews
I loved the movie. It made me laugh and cry. It was one of those movies that you watch in theatres where at the end people clap. So I know I wasn't the only one who really liked it.
Chick flick - No Reservations Reviews
This was a very cute love-story. The characters were believable and lovable. It is definately a chick-flick kind of movie. That being said, I think many men would enjoy it as well. I highly recommend seeing this movie, it is worth the price of admission!

A decent date movie - No Reservations Reviews
It's not the best movie out there to take your girlfriend or a friend of the opposite sex but is a well done effort. Catherine Zeta Jones is not that appealing, and I think the chemistry with Aaron Eckhart is not the best (as let's say Antonio Banderas in the Zorro movies) but they carry the movie as a decent "chick flick" with a twist, since it's set on a chef environment.
Abigail Breslin, is the one who rescues this movie from total oblivion, she was adorable in "Little Miss Sunshine" even to receive an Oscar nom but in this movie she proves she actually can act past beyond the "tenderness" stage and really bring something to a script that wasn't convincing enough.
For a date movie is okay, you won't miss much if you wait for DVD, but if you feel you need a couple of tears and laughs maybe this movie will make a decent choice.
A breath of fresh movie theater air! - No Reservations Reviews
A very good moving story with excellent cast.
This is one of those movies viewers cry during and one you think about the next day. On-the-mark acting. I would highly recommend this movie for anyother over the age of 18 but not because of mild sexual content. To enjoy this movie, a viewer must have the emotional "base" and empathy or someone who has "been there, done that." Enjoy!
A feel good movie - No Reservations Reviews
I thought this was a really good movie. It had both comedy and drama. I like how the relationship develops between Kate and Zoe. I also like Nick's character. He was funny and witty to Kate "everything has to be perfect" attitude. I also liked how Nick was with Zoe, he was cute with her. The ending was good too. If you want to see a movie that has comedy, drama and leaves you feeling good then this is the movie for you.
Entertaining adaptation of "bella marta" - No Reservations Reviews
This adaptation of the German film "Bella Marta/Mostly Martha" is light and entertaining; a good American Romantic Comedy. Catherine Zeta-Jones, while not quite believable as a chef, does a good job at portraying the controlling ice maiden who shuts out others to protect herself. Aaron Eckhart, while also not believable as a chef, is believable as every woman's dream man who can cook, romance, and loves children too. If you are looking for a light-hearted romantic comedy that deals with themes of love, loss, and forming new relationships, you'll love this film. I would compare it to "French Kiss" and "Notting Hill"--fun to see with girlfriends. However, if you want a bit more depth, I recommend getting "Bella Marta" and watching it.
Just great - No Reservations Reviews
Great story! NOT a mushy chick flick. This film will definetly make you hungry. This film is definetly worth spending your money. You won't regret it. The preview doesn't really sell the movie's worth.

Fun fun fun - No Reservations Reviews
This was a fun movie. It is the perfect Chick Flick. Grab some girlfriends and go see it. You may need a tissue or two but it is worth it.
Good, but could have been better - No Reservations Reviews
The previews raised my expectations for this movie. And it was good, but not great. It was not hilarious; the funny parts were mostly all in the previews. I think the biggest problem with the movie was that there were too many plot lines for the length of the film. Raising the orphaned child is a film in itself, as is the romantic hates-him-loves-him-hates-him, then finally loves him storyline.
You never really understand any of the characters--why the male love interest didn't want to be the boss, for example, was never explained. And the ending was disappointing-- I think everyone in the theater was surprised when the credits came up. It just ended; everyone happy of course, but aside from the child not growing up, you had no idea whether this was the next day, next year, or next decade from the scene before.
I would recommend waiting for the DVD if your theater-going dollars are scarce. But it's a fun diversion if you need a film to see.
Something's cooking...indeed! :) - No Reservations Reviews
When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I knew it was one that was an absolute must-see, and one that I would be adding to my own DVD collection. :)
So I waited with bated breath to see it in the theater, and I was not disappointed. It was pure delight from start to finish, and the most apt way that I can describe it is by saying that *it's a feast for the senses.* I'm not sure what it is about cooking and chefs, but stories that surround these aspects of life are just colorful, flavorful and can be enjoyed by the dozen. I felt the same way about Ratatouille and was struck by how similar the two movies are, and I give them both two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
Catherine Zeta-Jones is charming and gorgeous as always, and her co-star Aaron Eckhart is a delight to watch. The two are well matched with undeniable chemistry that sizzles in the kitchen, and on-screen! And little Abigail Breslin is just too adorable and talented for words, and gives a charming and heartfelt performance.
For a romantic comedy, which is without a doubt my favorite movie genre, this is top-notch, and a utterly beautiful film. I laughed, I cried and I cheered at the end. For a cute, fluffy, feel-good movie peppered with humor, romance and delectable cuisine, this one totally surpassed all my expectations. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this one an 11! Bravo!
Something's cooking... indeed! :)
Not perfect but very enjoyable - No Reservations Reviews
As a Christian, I'm very critical of Hollywood's approach to movies. However, I really enjoyed this film. It kept things much cleaner than other comedies in this genre. You really connected with the characters and I felt they were very believable.
It would have been so much better if they'd just gotten married and done it the right moral way. But it could have been worse. I really enjoyed it.
Cute romantic comedy - No Reservations Reviews
This is a really cute romantic comedy. A top notch chef's life is turned upside-down when her sister is killed and she must now care for her niece and share her kitchen at an exclusive Manhattan restaurant with an unorthodox new asst chef. It's the perfect date movie. You'll laugh and you might get a little teary eyed, but you'll leave the movie in a really good mood. Absolutely worth seeing.
Make your " reservations " to see this film - No Reservations Reviews
Last night my wife went to see the new Catherine Zeta Jones/Aaron Eckart movie No Reservations and before I go any further with my review I will say that I'm the one who picked this movie..I normally dont pick " chick flicks " to see but this one grabbed me when I saw the previews and I will say that it didn't disappoint at all...Everyone involved did a wonderful job in telling a story of a woman who has to take care of her sisters kid while at the same time working as a chef and on top of that she's in therapy ( for reasons you will see in the movie).....Later on in the movie Eckart comes in as a chef who takes Jones' place while she is gone and well you can pretty much figure it out from there....I won't say anymore except to say that this movie was awesome and everyone should go see it.
